“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” – Ecclesiastes 4:12
Welcome to CrossRoads: Season Two!
Last season was a great beginning and I was encouraged by the response we heard from athletes, coaches, and parents. This year will look very similar with just one opportunity added!
One of the hopes of CrossRoads is that it not only helps you align your heart and identity in God’s love but that it would turn your focus from yourself and onto God and those around you, even mid-game. I believe one of the ways you can accomplish this is by surrounding yourself with others who long for the same thing.
This will look how you want it to look: meeting in the locker room before games and practices, meeting up over a meal, or maybe setting up a time to communicate prayer requests and other needs over the phone. I know your schedule is busy, so this doesn’t need to be a burden, but what if instead of chilling in the locker room before the game, you gather with some teammates, go through CrossRoads together, and pray for one another. Those of you who are interested click this link (https://firstwoodway.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/313/responses/new?respondentId=0) and fill out the form. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to email me at csmith@firstwoodway.org or reach me at (254) 717-8234.
The other reality is that some of you have ended your time in athletics and may not want to receive these texts once a week. If that is you, just reply STOP to the text message and you should be good.
Thank you for being a part of this. I consider it a privilege and joy to walk with y’all through your season. As always, I would love for you to share CrossRoads with teammates, coaches, family, and friends. My prayer is that CrossRoads would be one small way God is redeeming sports and all those involved.
May His Kingdom come in sports as it is in Heaven.
