Married People Life Groups
First Woodway offers a variety of married life groups for all ages and stages of marriage. Our life groups meet at 8:15 am, 9:30 am, and 11:00 am on Sunday mornings, and some meet weekdays in people’s homes. For more information on married life groups, please contact Carrie Burrows, Minister of Discipleship: Connections.
Wednesday Night Marriage Class: How We Love
Do you wonder why you and your spouse have completely different – even opposing- communication styles? Do you continue to engage in the same arguments over and over and over again? Are you tired of unmet expectations causing bitter resentment? If you answered, “Yes! Yes! Yes!”, then join us as we work through How We Love: Discover Your Love Style, Enhance Your Marriage. In this 12-week class you will discover the root issues behind your beliefs, behavior, and expectations in marriage. You’ll also discover your love style – the avoider, the pleaser, the vacillator, or the chaotic—and how it impacts your marriage. In the end, you’ll break unhealthy patterns and create a stronger connection that will benefit your marriage for years to come. Couples will receive both a book and workbook, and each week there will be required homework. Then, couples will come to class, break into small groups, and participate in engaging discussion led by small group leaders. Couples will be given a book and workbook the first night of class. Here at First Woodway, we believe it’s okay to not be okay. Every marriage struggles from time to time, which is why we advocate for both individual and couples counseling when needed. Our staff has a list of local counselors we can recommend, so please reach out to Elizabeth Oates, Minister of Discipleship: Women & Marriage,if you are looking for a local counselor.
