Seniors Care Ministry
Contacts: Roy Marshall – Minister of Pastoral Care/Senior Adults
The Care Ministry is here to assist in caring for our church family. We help with navigating health care services, in home contact and visits, in home food delivery on Wednesday evenings, retirement facility worship services each Sunday, Bible studies, and a dementia support group.
Also service opportunities exist for volunteers to visit homebound, local nursing homes, those in local hospitals, and to assist with Bible studies and worship experiences both on and off campus of our local retirement centers and nursing homes. No matter your age, if you desire to serve our homebound and/or our senior adult residents, we have a place for you.
Please contact Roy Marshall at rmarshall@firstwoodway.org. You may also call the church office at 254.772.9696
God’s Toolbox
Contact: René Maciel
God’s Toolbox’s primary focus is to care for, share with, and serve others through home repair projects. They assist the elderly, people of low income, and the disabled, enabling them to live in warmth, safety and independence.
Wednesday Night Saints
Contact: Wanda Glaze (or call 254.666.8276)
Each Wednesday night during the school year, our volunteers deliver a warm meal along with hug and a prayer to 30-40 people. These Homebound families love the conversation time the most, just knowing someone cares about them. Call and see how you can spend one hour each week to deliver a meal to someone who is hurting or alone. Learn more about ways you can serve in this ministry by clicking here.
