Go South to the Road – United States
God has also called us to go south… and listen to the Spirit’s call and direction. He leads us to different places, people, neighborhoods, homes, and settings to share Christ. At First Woodway, we are ready to go wherever God sends us. Whether it be all of the sudden or a well planned effort, we will join together to Go South to the Road.

Details: First Baptist Church-OKC is in need of us going to care for them in many ways. This historic Southern Baptist church has struggled in recent years but God has great plans for them as they strive to reset their focus on sharing Christ in their location and their community. We are called to go and encourage them, pray with them and prayer walk the area with them, work and restore their building, and build the body of Christ. As Paul was obedient to the Spirit calling him to Macedonia, we will also go and help this church in this time of need. We will be staying at the church and eating at the church. We will leave on Thursday afternoon, June 28 and come back after lunch on Sunday, July 1. More details on the schedule coming soon.

Trip Leaders: Steven & Tonya Hatfield and Darren & Heather Jones
Details: The GA Mission Trip is a unique ministry opportunity. We start the week off with attending Sunday morning services at Palmetto Baptist Church which we partner with for the Sports camp Mon – Wed. We have forged a very friendly and loving relationship that continues to grow and strengthen. We do basketball, soccer and crafts along with a Bible lesson at the end of each night. We try to help connect the community with the Palmetto church. During the day Mon – Wed we provide hands and feet to express God’s love to those at the Baptist Children’s home. With our accommodations on the campus itself it gives us more opportunity to help where needed. Our activities have included yard work, painting, cleaning apartments, helping organize the clothes closet to spending time with those that need a little attention, love and encouragement. It has truly been all family members no matter the age on deck and actively participating. This is a relationship that continues to grow and mature as we return each year. This trip offers a great opportunity to grow as a family and to grow new or old friendships. This is achieved thru Bible studies, meal times and just time together each day. Our first growing and getting to know each other is on Sunday night with our famed “Family Olympics.” Words cannot describe it only the experience will do it justice. Come with us and make new friends and be the hands and feet to the Palmetto community that God love’s so much. Sign up here to go!
