“Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, ‘Go south to the road-the desert road-that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” Acts 8:26

Go South to the Road – United States

God has also called us to go south… and listen to the Spirit’s call and direction.  He leads us to different places, people, neighborhoods, homes, and settings to share Christ.  At First Woodway, we are ready to go wherever God sends us.  Whether it be all of the sudden or a well planned effort, we will join together to Go South to the Road.

Red River Community House, Red River, NM July 8-14, Cost $100 per person
Trip Leaders: Mark and Cheryl McCoy, Co-Leaders: TBA

Buena Vista, Colorado, July 18-23, Cost $75 person
Trip Leaders: Jake & Shani Roye and Scott & Celeste Hecox
Details: We partner with Valley Fellowship Church (VFC) to build community in the church body and into the community of Buena Vista, CO (BV). We do this by completing varied service projects with members of VFC working along side us. VFC has volunteers organized into teams that coordinate our various repair and minor construction service projects throughout the community of BV. Some of the things we’ve done in the past include things such as wood cutting, splitting, delivering and stacking for widows or the less fortunate that use the wood to heat their homes all winter. We have also done things such as yard work, building and mending fences, painting, staining, cleaning, repairing roofs, clearing weeds and debris to help protect from wildfires, etc. While serving we connect with widows, those with financial struggles, and different community members and serving organizations within BV. This trip is designed so that all family members will have the opportunity to be able to serve in some way. Most of the projects have the opportunity for families with children even as young as 4 years old to have something they can do. We stay on the VFC church campus where each family brings air mattresses and bedding to sleep on in their own class room in the church. Each family will need to plan to allow space while packing to help bring some of our tools up to Colorado with them and to return them to First Woodway when we finish. Click here to sign up!
