We gather as a large group in the Choir Suite (Rm 200) on the first Sunday of the month for some fellowship with donuts, coffee, and announcements. Around 9:15 am we then divide up into our individual classes. Many of our classes are studying through “The Gospel Project” on Sunday mornings. If you are interested in finding out more about this study you can click here. Here’s a list of our classes and room numbers where they meet:
Room 213 – Ronny & Kylie Higgins
Room 212 – Rich & Cheryl Gochis
Room 225 – Scott Robison & Jeremy Webb
Room 200 – Ricky Edison & Josh Jurgensen
Room 214 – Brandon & Carrie Burrows
Room 217 – Andrew Maddox & Jonathan & Lindsay Helm
After our classes dismiss, we go to the 10:30 am Worship Services either in the Worship Center or at The Venue.

10 – The Table – 5:30 pm in The Venue
What is The Table?
One of the things we have heard throughout the years is that the Church universal has been losing the battle to engage the Millennial generation…our hope is to reverse that trend by inviting them to The Table! We will speak directly to some of the issues and questions that many in this generation have about faith, truth, and doubts. We will have a great opportunity to worship together and have a short time of teaching before gathering together behind The Venue for food and conversations in a new outdoor area we are creating. We will have childcare available for kindergarten and younger. Please rsvp for childcare to Terri at email@example.com. For questions, please contact Ronny at firstname.lastname@example.org or Terri at email@example.com.
5th Sunday ChuckWagon
What is the YA “ChuckWagon”?
Have you ever thought, “I wish there was an easier way to do lunch on Sunday’s after church?” Well we have the solution for our Young Adult Ministry…and it’s called ChuckWagon! On the 5th Sunday of the month, we will have a lunch somewhere on the church grounds for our Young Adults and their families. It can be anything from fajitas and ice cream sandwiches to rounding up some food trucks and enjoying a picnic out on the grass! There are so many possibilities of what we will do…so make sure to mark the 5th Sundays of the month throughout the year as ChuckWagon Sundays! We’d love to have you come and just relax and have lunch while getting to know new people in our church…there’s no program or agenda other than food and fellowship!
We are always looking to find ways to get our people involved in serving the body of First Woodway. Here are some ways that you can do that:
Are you friendly? Do you like to smile? Do you like helping people? Then we would love for you to ask more about our Welcome Team Ministry. We have multiple areas that we are building up in order to make sure that we host both our guests and our members well each Sunday! Here are the teams that we have:
we have a big parking lot and lots of traffic in it, so we would love to offer safe and convenient rides to our church familyWRed Wagon Team: parents of young kids often have their hands full with diaper bags as they try to wrangle their little ones through the parking lot into the church, and we want to help. This team will go out into the designated lot for “families with small children” and offer rides for the kids into the building or just offer to take in bags so that the parents have an easier walk into the church!
Kid’s Min Greeters
Once families get into the building, we want to make sure that they feel welcomed and taken care of…that’s what Kid’s Min Greeters are all about! We help our guests get checked in on our system and then help them find classrooms for their little ones.
These are our people standing in strategic locations to make sure that everyone who walks into our building is greeted with a smile, a handshake, and a statement that says no matter who you are, how your morning has gone, or what you did on Saturday night, we are so glad you are here!
This team’s main purpose is to be Information Central! If you have a question about which class would be a good fit for you, where do the kids go for their classes, what time are the services, or any number of other questions…this is the team you go to!
This group is the one who walks our guests to the locations that the Welcome Desk points them to…in other words, this group helps to make sure we don’t have anyone wandering the halls looking for where they are supposed to be!
Our Children’s Ministry has been an integral part of our church and as the church grows and as we reach young families, that means that we are always looking for more volunteers to serve as teachers, helpers, greeters, or just an extra pair of hands. You can view the Kingdom Kids Get Involved Guide which describes in detail each ministry or event and how you can serve.
We will be looking at putting together some mission opportunities for Young Adults to be a part of in the days ahead…some of those will be local, some will be family oriented, and some will be international. Be watching for more information as we try to live out Acts 1:8 by engaging our city, state, country, and world!
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” -Acts 1:8
