to be the best hours of their week, building a firm foundation on the truth and love of Jesus Christ.
MINISTRIES
Your child will love and anticipate Sunday Mornings at First Woodway! We invite your kids to a new and exciting way to experience God. Each week your kids will draw closer to Jesus through hands-on active Bible study with our caring and gifted leaders. We’d like to fill you in on the ministries happening for kids at the 9:30 and 11:00 am hours. For families who prefer to have their children attend worship as a family, you are always welcome to do that!
9:30 am
- Full Sunday School hour for all kids, babies-5th grade
11:00 am
- Babies – PreK will attend Sunday School Plus.
- Kindergarten kids will have their own praise party in KINDER KIDS. They will enjoy worship, lesson, crafts, games, snacks, and more!
- 1st – 4th grade students will be in FUSE. Your kids will learn Biblical truths through a teaching time, as well as activities and games with a spiritual application.
- 5th graders will spend this hour in deeper discipleship as they focus on their relationship with Christ in the program, ROOTED.
Check-In
If you are joining us for the first time, please stop by the Kids Welcome Center in the Atrium of the Children’s Building and we will place your child in the proper classroom and help you find your way.
*Please Note: There are no Children’s Ministry classes during the 8:15 am Life Group hour.
Babies through Three-Years-Old
We will have childcare for this age for parents who are in a Discipleship Class (6:30 – 7:30 pm) on campus that night or who serve.
Pre-K through 5th Grade
We are excited to offer Kids’ Choir (6:30 – 7:30 pm) for this age group. These kids will be preparing songs to sing in Sunday morning Worship as well as preparing a musical, which will be performed during this spring. Don’t miss this time of learning music and learning how to worship God through it.
1st through 5th Grade
This year, our 1st through 5th graders have a choice on Wednesday evenings. These age groups can join our Kids’ Choir (see above) or they can join Discipleship Classes (6:30 – 7:30 pm) just for Kids! They will memorize scripture, learn Bible skills, hear Bible stories, and apply Bible Truths to their lives.

Select Sunday Mornings | 9:30 – 10:45 am
Family Dedications are faith milestones that we celebrate on select Sunday mornings throughout the year. To participate in a Family Dedication, you must first attend an orientation session. This informational class will focus on what a dedication is, as well as provide you with some excellent tools and resources for leading your child. You can sign up for all 2025 orientations and the actual dedications here.
Select Sunday Evenings | 5:00 – 7:00 pm
This class is a pre-requisite for children to be baptized at First Woodway. As we believe that baptism is an outward symbol of an inward decision to follow Christ, and based on the material covered, this class is for kids who have already accepted Jesus into their lives. In addition to baptism, we will discuss what being a Christian means, worship, how children can begin to grow in their Christian walk, and more. This class is specifically for children in grades 2 – 5, and kids must be at least age seven to be baptized. The class begins at 5:00 pm on select Sunday evenings in Room 116, and parents join at 6:15 pm for the final 45 minutes of class. After class, you will be able to choose your child’s baptism date and service time.
You can reserve your child’s spot for any of our 2025 dates here. The deadline to register for class is the Tuesday prior to the scheduled class.
Helping Hands, the Special Needs ministry at First Woodway, ministers to persons with disabilities (babies through adulthood) and their families. It is our desire that people affected by disabilities and their families come to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Woodway Christian School (WCS) offers Christ-centered education for students in Pre-K through 8th grade. Founded in 1993, WCS is a member of the TX Association of Baptist Schools and is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission of the TX Association of Baptist Schools.
