The Nickells serve within our church in multiple ways, one of them being the spring break local mission trip – Serving U.
Missions is something we feel is at the heart of how Christ commanded us to live. And if that is to be part of our everyday life, then it makes sense to us that it includes our local community and our family. This is why this local community mission trip has meant so much to us – we get to work with our kids, other families, and our community. Building relationships and community in the body of Christ while serving the community at large and demonstrating what it is to have a servant’s heart without barriers.
Every year over Spring Break, First Woodway “sends” a team to serve local organizations, build relationships, and share the hope of Christ while staying overnight on our church campus. With worship round a campfire, s’mores, and games, this is also a great way to connect with others in our church family. People of all ages participate, comprised of families, individuals, and college students. Stay tuned for next year’s gathering!
