Our hope is for every person to come to know Jesus and to grow as a fully developing follower of Christ.

Discipleship Classes

A Discipleship Class is an opportunity for you to be formed and shaped in your spiritual journey. We are formed and shaped to be followers of Christ by a constant feeding of His word and having fellowship with other believers. Every spring and fall semester, First Woodway offers a dozen or more classes. These men’s, women’s, and coed classes meet on Wednesday evenings at the church, with a few classes meeting at alternate times during the week at various locations. Classes are offered every spring and fall. Class information and registration is now available for our Spring 2021 semester. We are offering Zoom Only, In Person Only, and Zoom/In Person Hybrid classes. Please note we will not have Wednesday evening meals. You can access our Spring 2021 Discipleship Brochure here.

*Sign up form does not include Care Classes. Please look under the Care Corner tab below.

The redemptive plan of God cannot be divorced from the fruitfulness of the church. As the world is redeemed, the church flourishes; and as the church flourishes, the world is redeemed. So, the church is both commissioned and equipped to repair the fabric of society, and to serve as envoys of love, dignity, commitment, communion and grace. Join us as we go through this missional book by Michael Frost/Christiana Rice. Make plans to be a part of this class as we learn and apply ways to partner with God in his world-altering mission. This study is Zoom only; however, we will have missional opportunities outside of the class. Sign up here.

Led by Will McKerall | Open to all | Wednesdays, 6 – 7 pm | 6 weeks (Zoom Only)
Start Date: January 20, 2021
No Cost (except book)
Book: Keeping Your Kids On God’s Side by Natasha Crane. This book can be purchased online.
This course is targeted to equip parents and grandparents to engage their kids in the “counter-Christian” onslaught of today’s world! Over 70% of youth raised in the church leave their faith when they depart home. The basis for this is almost always emotional or grounded in faulty reasoning that was not recognized or not addressed. Given the challenge of discipling children in our fast-paced, tech driven, socially constructed culture, it is essential that parents prepare themselves to help their kids navigate the tough faith battles they’ll encounter. Sign up here.
